Bandar Botanik Park

Botanic Klang is a 1,247-acre freehold township situated in the southern part of Klang, Selangor. This RM3 billion township project was introduced in July 2001 and became one of the most sought-after developments in the Klang Valley. The major township is adjacent to other modern and new townships in Klang like Bukit Tinggi and Glenmarie Cove.

Bandar Botanic is Malaysia's first beachfront parkland development to have a self-sustaining urban stormwater management system. The ecologically friendly design serves as a detention pond for surface water run-off and puts a high emphasis on having a controlled and regulated discharge to the river.

After a heavy downpour, the surface water on the roads of Bandar Botanic is designed to flow out through the discharge outlets created at fixed distances along the road kerbs and within a sufficient time into the Central Lake and subsequently into the river.

They received this award for their foundation design which is safe and innovative as it entails of a piled strip-raft system and is the first of its kind to be implemented in Malaysia.
